Overview
Description
The VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF is an equity exchange-traded fund designed to provide investors with targeted exposure to the rapidly evolving quantum computing sector. Its primary goal is to replicate the performance of the MarketVector Global Quantum Leaders Total Return Net Index, which comprises companies worldwide that are either at the forefront of quantum computing technology or hold significant portfolios of quantum-related patents.
The ETF adopts a physically replicated, passively managed approach, fully mirroring the index by directly holding its underlying securities. It features global diversification, with notable allocations across the United States, Japan, Canada, Germany, South Korea, and other key markets. The portfolio includes both specialized "pure play" firms, such as IonQ, Rigetti Computing, and D-Wave Quantum, as well as established multinational giants like IBM, Microsoft, and Alphabet, which are recognized for substantial investment in quantum research and development.
Operating under the UCITS regulatory framework and domiciled in Ireland, the ETF reinvests all dividends, enhancing compounding within the fund. Launched in May 2025, it stands out as the first ETF in Europe dedicated solely to quantum computing, enabling investors to access a sector poised to influence future innovation and computational advancement globally.
