Description
SPDR Bloomberg Emerging Markets Local Bond UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Bloomberg Emerging Markets Local Currency Liquid Government Bond Index. This index measures the performance of liquid, fixed-rate local currency sovereign debt issued by emerging market governments outside the United States, with country exposure limited to a maximum of 10% and securities required to have at least US$1 billion outstanding. The ETF employs a stratified sampling replication method, holding a diversified portfolio of government bonds across various maturities from one year or more, including investment grade and non-investment grade issuers rated B3/B-/B- or higher. It provides unhedged exposure to emerging markets debt in local currencies, distributing interest income semi-annually to investors. Launched in 2011 and domiciled in Ireland, the fund is managed by State Street Global Advisors and caters to those seeking access to this segment of the fixed income market, which offers potential income from coupons while navigating currency and credit risks inherent in developing economies.
