Overview
Description
The Amundi S&P 500 VIX Futures Enhanced Roll UCITS ETF Acc is an exchange-traded fund designed to track the S&P 500 VIX Futures Enhanced Roll Index. It provides synthetic exposure to futures contracts on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), known as the market's 'fear gauge,' which measures expected 30-day volatility in the S&P 500 index. Launched on 25 September 2012 and domiciled in Luxembourg, the ETF employs an enhanced roll strategy to optimize the selection and rolling of VIX futures contracts, aiming to mitigate typical roll costs associated with contango in volatility futures while capturing both upward and downward movements in the index. Managed by Amundi Asset Management, it features a total expense ratio of 0.60% per annum and an accumulating distribution policy, reinvesting any income to increase share price. With approximately 162 million euros in assets under management, this UCITS-compliant fund serves as a tactical tool in portfolios, offering long-only volatility exposure without currency hedging in euros. Its passive, synthetic replication method distinguishes it in the alternatives asset class, focusing on U.S. volatility dynamics.
