Description

Invesco UK Gilt 15+ Year UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that provides investors with exposure to long-dated UK government bonds, commonly known as gilts. This fund is designed to track the performance of the Bloomberg UK Gilt 15+ Index, which measures the total return of sterling-denominated, fixed-rate, investment grade public obligations issued by the United Kingdom that have a remaining maturity of at least 15 years. By focusing exclusively on nominal gilts (excluding inflation-linked bonds), the ETF allows investors to access a concentrated segment of the UK government bond market characterized by longer duration and greater interest-rate sensitivity. The fund utilizes a passive, physical replication strategy, holding a representative sample of the underlying index securities based on characteristics such as average duration and liquidity. It distributes income to shareholders on a quarterly basis and maintains UCITS compliance standards. The ETF is denominated in GBP and does not employ currency hedging. Its role in the financial market is to offer a transparent and efficient means for both individual and institutional investors to gain targeted exposure to long-term UK sovereign debt—often used for core fixed income allocation, duration management, or liability matching strategies in portfolios.
