Description
The Xtrackers S&P 500 2x Inverse Daily Swap UCITS ETF 1C is an exchange-traded fund designed to deliver twice the inverse daily performance of the S&P 500 Index, before fees and expenses. It employs synthetic replication through derivatives, such as swaps, to achieve leveraged short exposure to the 500 largest U.S. blue-chip companies, which represent about 80% of the free-float market capitalization of the U.S. equity market. Launched on March 18, 2010, and domiciled in Luxembourg as a UCITS-compliant vehicle, the ETF capitalizes dividends and maintains a total expense ratio of 0.70% per annum, ensuring regulatory transparency and investor protection. With assets under management around 35-47 million EUR and over 150 million shares outstanding, it serves sophisticated investors for short-term trading, hedging portfolios against U.S. large-cap declines, or positioning in bearish conditions, though daily reset and compounding effects make it unsuitable for long-term holding.
