Launched on September 13, 2011, and domiciled in Ireland, it is managed by BlackRock Asset Management Ireland Limited, with co-management from BlackRock entities in the U.S., Singapore, and the UK. The ETF tracks the Markit iBoxx USD Liquid High Yield Capped Index using a representative sampling approach, focusing on fixed-rate bonds with at least 1.5 years to maturity rated BB+ or lower by S&P/Fitch or Ba1 or below by Moody's. It holds over 1,200 securities, including top issuers like OneMain Finance Corp, Tenet Healthcare Corp, and Celanese US Holdings LLC across diverse sectors. Distributing dividends semi-annually with a recent yield around 6.78%, the fund manages approximately 2.25 billion in assets and features an expense ratio of 0.50%. In the fixed income landscape, it plays a key role in offering income-oriented exposure to sub-investment grade corporates while aiming for liquidity and diversification.
