Overview
Description
The Premia BOCHK Saudi Arabia Government Bond Index Fund is an exchange-traded fund specializing in sukuk, a form of Shariah-compliant fixed income securities, issued by the Saudi Arabian government and its agencies. Designed to provide investors with efficient access to Saudi Arabia’s government sukuk market, the fund closely tracks the iBoxx Tadawul Government & Agencies Sukuk Index, covering both Saudi Riyal and US Dollar denominated issues. As Asia’s first investment-grade government sukuk ETF, it reflects the stability of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign credit, supported by robust oil reserves, low government debt, and the country’s economic diversification agenda under Vision 2030. Managed in partnership by Premia Partners and BOCHK Asset Management, the fund offers the transparency, liquidity, and flexibility of an ETF while adhering to the principles of Islamic finance. It is recognized for its low total expense ratio and for offering diversification benefits, given the typically low correlation of Saudi sukuk with other global bonds and asset classes. The fund plays a strategic role in fostering financial connectivity between East Asia and the Middle East, positioning Hong Kong as a vital hub for Islamic and emerging market finance.
