Description
SPDR S&P U.S. Utilities Select Sector UCITS ETF (Acc) is an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P Utilities Select Sector Daily Capped 35/20 Index, focusing on large-sized U.S. utilities companies within the S&P 500. Its primary purpose is to provide investors with targeted exposure to the utilities sector, which includes providers of essential services like electricity, gas, and water, known for relative stability in volatile markets. Managed by State Street Global Advisors and domiciled in Ireland, this UCITS-compliant ETF employs full physical replication, holding 31 securities such as NextEra Energy (around 12%), Constellation Energy Corporation (about 9%), and Southern Company (roughly 8%), with sector weights emphasizing electric utilities (65%), multi-utilities (26%), and others. Launched on July 7, 2015, it features an accumulation policy for dividends, a low total expense ratio of 0.15%, and assets under management of approximately $138 million. Adhering to strict EU regulations including the 5/10/40 diversification rule, independent custody, and liquidity standards, it offers European investors a regulated, transparent vehicle for sector-specific equity exposure while mitigating certain risks associated with concentrated investments.
