Description
iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF is an exchange-traded fund that provides exposure to a broad range of U.S. dollar-denominated high yield corporate bonds. It seeks to track the performance of the Markit iBoxx USD Liquid High Yield Index using a representative sampling technique, focusing on liquid bonds issued by sub-investment grade rated corporations from agencies like Fitch, Moody's, or S&P. The portfolio primarily includes bonds with maturities between one and fifteen years, spanning sectors such as telecommunications, energy, healthcare, consumer services, and media, with holdings like those from CCO Holdings, Venture Global LNG, TransDigm, and DISH Network. As one of the most widely used high yield bond ETFs, it offers investors access to the junk bond market segment known for potentially higher income generation through fixed income securities. Managed passively by BlackRock Fund Advisors under iShares Trust, the ETF emphasizes liquidity and diversification within the U.S. high yield corporate debt space. Launched in 2007 and domiciled in the United States, it plays a key role in fixed income portfolios seeking yield enhancement.
