Description
Vanguard EUR Eurozone Government Bond UCITS ETF is a distributing exchange-traded fund that provides investors with exposure to Eurozone government bonds. It employs a passive indexing strategy through physical replication, investing in a representative sample of bonds from the Bloomberg Euro Aggregate: Treasury Index to closely track its capital and income returns. The index measures the performance of a broad range of Euro-denominated, fixed-rate bonds issued or guaranteed by Eurozone member governments, focusing on investment-grade securities with maturities greater than one year and encompassing all maturities. The ETF distributes interest income from coupons to investors on a monthly basis. To a limited extent, it may hold similar bonds outside the index for optimization. Launched in 2016 and domiciled in Ireland under Vanguard Funds PLC, with management by Vanguard Asset Management, Ltd., this ETF holds hundreds of bonds, primarily from major issuers like France and Spain, serving as a key vehicle for fixed-income allocation in European portfolios seeking Eurozone sovereign debt exposure.
