Description
Franklin FTSE China UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund launched on June 4, 2019, by Franklin Templeton and domiciled in Ireland. It seeks to track the FTSE China 30/18 Capped Index, providing exposure to large and mid-capitalization Chinese equities across various share classes including A Shares, B Shares, H Shares, Red Chips, P Chips, S Chips, and N Shares. The index caps individual constituent weights quarterly to limit concentration, with the largest company not exceeding 30% and others 18%. Employing a physical, optimized replication strategy, the ETF holds approximately 1,045 securities, predominantly in China (98.51%), with minor allocations to the United States, Hong Kong, and Singapore. As an accumulating fund in USD and currency unhedged, it reinvests dividends rather than distributing them, featuring a low total expense ratio of 0.19%. With assets under management around 1.3-1.7 billion euros, it plays a key role in offering European investors diversified access to China's dynamic equity market, subject to risks like market volatility, currency fluctuations, and China-specific factors.
