Description
The SPDR Bloomberg US Treasury Bond UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Bloomberg U.S. Treasury Bond Index, which comprises public obligations issued by the U.S. Treasury, primarily government bonds across various maturities excluding certain Treasury bills, special issues like state and local government series, and U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities. Launched on June 3, 2011, and domiciled in Ireland, this UCITS-compliant ETF employs a stratified sampling replication method, holding approximately 258 to 271 U.S. Treasury securities with an average maturity of 7.67 years and effective duration of 5.83 years. It features a low total expense ratio of 0.05% per annum, semi-annual distributions, and securities lending to enhance efficiency. The portfolio is heavily weighted toward Treasuries (99.94%), spanning maturity buckets from 1-2 years (19.69%) to over 20 years (12.44%), all rated AA1 quality. With assets under management around $324 million to $344 million, the ETF provides European investors accessible exposure to the stable, low-risk U.S. Treasury bond market, serving as a key tool for fixed-income allocation in diversified portfolios.
