Description
Vanguard USD Emerging Markets Government Bond UCITS ETF USD Accumulating is an exchange-traded fund that employs a passive management approach to track the Bloomberg EM USD Sovereign + Quasi-Sov Index. This index measures the performance of a broad range of US dollar-denominated bonds issued by emerging market governments and public bodies, including sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt with maturities greater than one year and no credit rating constraints. The ETF uses a physical replication method through sampling, investing in a representative selection of the index's most relevant constituents, which typically number around 1,450 to 1,460 bonds, to closely match the index's capital and income returns. Interest income from coupons is accumulated and automatically reinvested, supporting long-term growth without distributions. Holdings span various maturities, with a focus on government bonds from emerging markets, supplemented to a lesser extent by similar bonds outside the index. Launched in 2019 and domiciled in Ireland, this ETF provides investors with targeted exposure to the USD-denominated emerging markets government bond segment within the global fixed income market.
