Description
iShares TecDAX UCITS ETF (DE) is an exchange-traded fund managed by BlackRock that seeks to replicate the performance of the TecDAX index. This index comprises the 30 largest and most traded technology companies listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange's Regulated Market, selected based on free-float market capitalization and meeting strict quality criteria such as minimum free float, timely financial reporting, and German headquarters. Launched on April 6, 2001, and domiciled in Germany, the ETF employs a long-only, physical replication strategy with a total expense ratio of 0.51% per annum. As an accumulating fund in euros, it reinvests dividends automatically, enhancing share price growth without currency hedging. With assets under management around 620 million euros, it provides targeted exposure to Germany's technology sector, featuring leaders like SAP, Infineon Technologies, Deutsche Telekom, and Siemens Healthineers. The TecDAX, calculated as a performance index since 2003 on Xetra trading data, plays a key benchmarking role for tech innovation across software, semiconductors, telecom, and medtech industries, underscoring Germany's prowess in these fields. Index components are reviewed quarterly, with individual weights capped at 15% to ensure diversification.
