Description
The VanEck European Equal Weight Screened UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that tracks the Solactive European Equity Index GTR, offering equally weighted exposure to 100 of the most liquid and highly capitalized companies from European developed markets. It applies rigorous ESG screening aligned with the UN Global Compact Principles, excluding companies involved in controversial sectors such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling, pornography, weapons, military, animal testing, nuclear power, oil sands, and thermal coal mining, with ESG intelligence provided by ISS ESG. The portfolio ensures diversification through equal weighting of holdings and a 20% cap per country, reducing mega-cap bias and promoting balanced representation across nations like the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, and others. Launched on October 1, 2014, and domiciled in the Netherlands, the ETF features a total expense ratio of 0.40%, quarterly distributions with a recent dividend yield around 2.4-2.7%, and assets under management of approximately €81-82 million. Classified under SFDR Article 8, it plays a key role in responsible investing by providing screened, diversified access to European equities while managing risks like foreign currency and equity market volatility.
