Description
The iShares € Govt Bond 1-3yr UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Bloomberg Euro Government Bond 1-3 Year Index, comprising short-term, euro-denominated government bonds from Eurozone countries such as Italy, France, Germany, and Spain. These investment-grade bonds, rated BBB- or higher by S&P and Fitch or Baa3 or above by Moody’s, feature maturities between one and three years, offering lower sensitivity to interest rate fluctuations compared to longer-term securities. With an average weighted maturity of approximately 1.99 years and effective duration around 1.93 years, the ETF provides exposure to stable, fixed-income assets issued by EMU member states including Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Managed by BlackRock under iShares, it employs a physical replication strategy through representative sampling, distributing income semi-annually. This ETF plays a key role in fixed-income portfolios, enabling diversified access to low-risk Eurozone sovereign debt for total return objectives combining capital appreciation and yield.
