VanEck Uranium and Nuclear Technologies UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund that provides investors with targeted exposure to companies driving innovation in the uranium and nuclear energy sectors. Launched on February 3, 2023, and domiciled in Ireland, it tracks the MarketVector™ Global Uranium and Nuclear Energy Infrastructure Index, which focuses on the largest and most liquid firms involved in uranium mining, nuclear power infrastructure, reactor manufacturing, and related technologies. This physically replicated, accumulating ETF reinvests income and maintains a total expense ratio of 0.55%, with net assets exceeding USD 2.28 billion and around 25 holdings for diversification.
Key features include significant allocations to energy (52.9%) and industrials (40.3%) sectors, top holdings like Cameco Corp (16.79%) and Oklo Inc (6.73%), and geographic diversity led by Canada (36.69%), the United States (26.43%), and Japan (21.05%). It plays a crucial role in the financial markets by offering access to nuclear energy's growth amid the global shift to low-carbon electricity sources, supporting decarbonization efforts and rising power demands from sectors like artificial intelligence, while applying ESG filters.
