Description
iShares MSCI Japan EUR Hedged UCITS ETF (Acc) is an exchange-traded fund launched on September 30, 2010, and domiciled in Ireland, managed by BlackRock under the iShares brand. It seeks to replicate the performance of the MSCI Japan 100% Hedged to EUR Index Net, which tracks large- and mid-cap Japanese equity securities across diversified sectors, with full hedging of Japanese yen exposure back to euros using one-month foreign exchange forward contracts on a monthly basis. This currency hedging minimizes the impact of JPY/EUR exchange rate fluctuations, allowing euro-based investors to capture Japanese market returns without unhedged currency risk. The fund employs a passive, optimized sampling replication strategy, investing directly in constituent stocks and derivatives as needed, while following a long-only approach. As an accumulating ETF, it reinvests dividends to support compounded growth rather than distributing them. With over EUR 1 billion in assets under management and a total expense ratio of 0.64% per annum, it plays a key role in providing European investors targeted, hedged access to Japan's equity market, reflecting its economic performance in a euro-denominated context.
