Description
SPDR Bloomberg U.S. TIPS UCITS ETF is an exchange-traded fund designed to track the Bloomberg U.S. Government Inflation-Linked Bond Index, which measures the performance of the U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities market. These securities feature principal and interest payments adjusted for inflation based on the Consumer Price Index, providing protection against rising prices while offering investment-grade rated U.S. government bonds denominated in U.S. dollars. Notable exclusions include nominal Treasuries, floating rate bonds, and STRIPS. The ETF employs a stratified sampling replication method, holding approximately 51 securities primarily in the Treasury sector with an average maturity of 7.63 years. Domiciled in Ireland and UCITS compliant, it distributes income semi-annually with a low total expense ratio of 0.05%, making it a cost-efficient option for accessing this asset class. Launched in December 2015 and managed by State Street Global Advisors, the fund plays a key role in fixed-income portfolios by mitigating inflation risk and delivering real yield exposure amid varying interest rate environments.
