Description

HSBC Developed World Screened Equity UCITS ETF is an equity exchange-traded fund that aims to provide broad exposure to large and mid-cap companies from developed markets worldwide. Its primary function is to track the performance of the FTSE Developed ESG Low Carbon Select index, which integrates robust environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. This index applies systematic exclusions on sectors such as weapons, thermal coal, tobacco, and nuclear power and removes companies not in compliance with the UN Global Compact. It also specifically targets a 50% reduction in both carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption, as well as a 20% improvement in overall ESG rating compared to its parent benchmark. The ETF follows a physical, full replication methodology, holding all components of the underlying index. It offers quarterly dividend distributions to investors and is domiciled in Ireland, maintaining compliance with UCITS regulations. Notably, it features a low ongoing charge, supporting cost-efficient access to sustainable equity exposure. By addressing ESG concerns and climate impact, the ETF is positioned as a core product for investors seeking responsible participation in developed equity markets while aligning with sustainability principles.
