Description
The Invesco MSCI Emerging Markets Universal Screened UCITS ETF is an equity-based, passively managed exchange-traded fund designed to track the performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets ESG Universal Select Business Screens Index. Its primary purpose is to provide broad exposure to emerging market companies while incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into the asset selection process. The index followed by the fund excludes companies involved in controversial sectors, such as thermal coal, tobacco, and certain weapons industries, and weights remaining constituents according to their ESG profiles, favoring those with robust and improving ESG metrics.
Structured as an accumulating ETF, the fund reinvests dividends rather than distributing them to shareholders, which enables compounding of returns over time. The ETF employs physical replication, owning all the securities in the underlying index, and has a total expense ratio of 0.19% annually. With over 470 holdings, prominent companies include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, Tencent, Samsung Electronics, and Alibaba, reflecting its diversified exposure across major emerging economies. Launched in July 2021 and domiciled in Ireland, the fund plays a significant role for institutional and individual investors seeking ESG-compliant access to growth opportunities in global emerging markets.
