Amber Grid AB is a joint-stock company specializing in the transmission of natural gas within Lithuania. As the nation’s primary natural gas transmission system operator, Amber Grid AB is tasked with the safe and efficient transport of natural gas through a network of high-pressure pipelines, compressor stations, metering and distribution stations, and associated infrastructure. Its operations encompass both the development and maintenance of the transmission system, ensuring uninterrupted service to major customers such as power plants, district heating facilities, industrial enterprises, and gas supply companies. Established in 2013 through a spin-off from Lietuvos Dujos in line with legal requirements to separate transmission activities, the company has become vital to Lithuania’s energy market and infrastructure, especially following its decisive shift away from Russian gas imports in 2022. Amber Grid AB is a full member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG), reflecting its integration with European energy markets. The company plays a central role in supporting national energy security and facilitating cross-border gas flows within the region.
